About the Role

We are seeking aSoftware Developerto deliver maintenance fixes, stability improvements, and low-risk modernization across the Carta platform, including both backend services and frontend applications.

This role is ideal for an engineer who can independently execute well-scoped work across a mature enterprise system, spanning APIs, databases, and Angular-based UI applications.

Carta is Access’s enterprise document and workflow platform family, including CartaHR, CartaDC, and CartaAP The platform powers document management, workflow automation, integrations, scheduled processing, retention controls, and customer-specific deployments.

This team focuses on maintaining, stabilizing, and modernizing the existing codebase. No net-new product development is expected

Key Responsibilities

Backend / API Responsibilities

• Implement bug fixes and enhancements in APIs, shared components, scheduled jobs, and SQL.

• Investigate defects using stack traces, SQL data, logs, and runtime behavior.

• Improve logging, validation, and operational safeguards.

• Write or update unit and integration tests.

• Frontend Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Angular components, routes, services, and state management.

• Fix UI defects related to validation, layout, async data handling, and workflows.

• Ensure adherence to accessibility, styling, and shared UI patterns.

• Write or update automated tests using Jest and Cypress.

• Cross-Functional Responsibilities

• Collaborate with QA, backend, and product teams to resolve issues.

• Participate in code reviews and follow sustainment best practices.

• Support release validation and post-fix verification.

• Work within Agile, ticket-driven delivery processes.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience in full stack development.

• Strong experience with:

• Backend: .NET, C#, REST APIs, SQL Server

• Frontend: Angular, TypeScript

• Solid understanding of:

• API integration and component-based architecture

• Relational databases and query optimization

• Experience maintaining and debugging existing enterprise applications.

• Proficiency with Git and Agile workflows.

• Ability to safely implement incremental changes in complex systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to VB.NET, Web Forms, or legacy systems.

• Experience with Nx, NgRx, Kendo UI, SCSS.

• Familiarity with testing frameworks like Jest and Cypress.

• Experience with scheduled processing or workflow-driven systems.

• Strong documentation and follow-through habits.
