Job Description

The Software Developer will participate in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), supporting an FAA client with maintenance and enhancements for an existing software application. Develops specifications for moderately complex software programming applications and modifies/maintains the existing software. Develops, modifies and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized. Participates in design and coding activities with other staff members.

Responsibilities:

• Perform various research and service analysis activities that fall into the following categories: NAS-wide Fast-Time Modeling and Simulation Capability Enhancement, and Future Schedule Generation.
• Maintenance and enhancement of existing software applications used by the group, as well as development of new software tools and participation in data analysis tasks.
• Participate in all aspects of the project, and must be conversant in mathematical and analytical concepts employed by operations researchers and computer scientists for simulation and modeling of complex systems
• Designs/codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools.
• Maintains and modifies existing applications on their own as well as under direction from senior staff members.
• Performs maintenance programming for existing version. Performs custom programming at customer request
• Assumes responsibility for ongoing data architecture for product
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Strong Java, .Net and C# programming ability
• Command of major software design and architectural patterns, especially as applied to simulation, modeling, and analysis
• Strong background in mathematics and statistics
• Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 15 years software development experience
• Candidates who are Non-Immigrant Aliens (not a U.S. Citizen) or an Immigrant Alien (U.S. Permanent Resident-Green Card Holder) must have resided in the U.S. for a minimum of three (3) years in the last five (5) years.

Preferred Experience and Education:

• 3+ years Java application development
• 3+ years C# development
• CSIM 2.0 discrete event simulation framework experience
• Java GUI development experience
