Job Role / Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager Software Development and Maintenance, you will be expected to be capable of planning and managing multiple modules of a large software implementation project independently through all phases of system implementation life cycle. You should have thorough understanding and working knowledge of data modelling and analysis techniques; should be able to work closely with users to help define business requirements, understand the software functionality and generate a detail fit-gap analysis report with design considerations to meet business requirements. You will provide guidance & support to a number of Programmer Analysts in the enhancement and support of existing as well as new HIS modules / systems. You should have appropriate knowledge and understanding of software engineering, object-oriented analysis & design as well as hands-on skills pertaining to programming languages. You will have to carry out feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis and to formulate proposals for system enhancement, and implementation plans. Excellent inter-personnel skills, Project Management skills, and verbal and written communication skills are essential. Specifically, you will be responsible for;

  • planning and managing multiple modules of a large software implementation project independently through all phases of system implementation life cycle
  • working closely with users to help define business requirements, understanding the software functionality and generating a detail fit-gap analysis report with design considerations to meet business requirements
  • providing guidance and actung as a leader to a number of Programmer Analysts in the enhancement and support of existing as well as new HIS modules / systems
  • carrying out feasibility studies and cost/benefit analysis and formulating proposals for system enhancement, and implementation plans.

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements:

You should have/be:

  • a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering
  • at least 8-10 years of relevant experience
  • appropriate knowledge and understanding of software engineering, object-oriented analysis & design as well as high level of awareness pertaining to programming languages including VB6, VB.Net, ASP, object-oriented programming, N-tier application development and web-based applications
  • good project management skills to effectively manage multiple projects
  • ability to consistently achieve established expectations through personal commitment and make adjustments to activities/processes based on feedback
  • the ability to work closely with users to help define requirements, new applications and procedures
  • excellent supervisory and leadership skills
  • the ability to see connections, patterns or trends in the information available and identify the implications and possible consequences of trends or events that draws logical conclusions, providing options and recommendations
  • the capability to understand issues from the client’s perspective and monitors services provided to clients and makes timely adjustments as required
  • the ability to maintain continuous open and consistent communication with others, supported with relevant data, information, examples and demonstrations
  • thorough understanding and working knowledge of data modelling and analysis techniques, requirement management techniques, and other software development methodologies
  • the ability to make straight - forward decisions based on information that is generally clear and adequate, considering the risks and consequences of action and/or decisions
  • excellent command over the programming languages
  • the ability to take action to avoid imminent problems or to capitalize on imminent opportunity and look for ways to achieve greater results or value addition
  • the capability to assume responsibility for work activities and coordinating efforts as well as seek others’ input and involvement and listen to their viewpoints. Able to acknowledge the work of others
  • the ability to identify and accept the need and processes for change by explaining the process, implications and rationale for change to those affected by it
