Job Description

Accountabilities:

The Software Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and guiding the technical direction of scalable backend systems. The role requires strong architectural judgment, hands-on engineering expertise, and the ability to mentor teams while ensuring platform reliability and performance.

• Design and architect scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems for core platform capabilities.
• Build and optimize low-latency applications capable of supporting high-throughput workloads.
• Lead technical architecture discussions and establish engineering best practices across teams.
• Develop and enhance backend services using Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Docker, and ECS.
• Own performance optimization initiatives, including database tuning, caching strategies, and distributed system improvements.
• Define architectural approaches for microservices, APIs, cloud infrastructure, scalability, and deployment patterns.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver reliable and production-ready solutions.
• Review code, mentor engineers, and promote technical excellence across development teams.
• Ensure platform components are resilient, observable, maintainable, and aligned with long-term scalability goals.
• Identify technical risks, troubleshoot complex issues, and proactively implement effective solutions.
• Support production reliability through monitoring, debugging, and incident resolution.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have extensive software engineering experience with a strong background in backend architecture, cloud platforms, and distributed systems. Candidates should demonstrate technical leadership, problem-solving ability, and experience building enterprise-grade applications.

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant exposure to backend or platform engineering.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot development.
• Deep experience with MySQL, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, and transaction management.
• Hands-on experience with Redis for caching, queues, rate limiting, or low-latency data access.
• Strong AWS experience, including production-grade cloud deployments.
• Experience working with Docker and containerized applications.
• Hands-on experience with AWS ECS or similar container orchestration technologies.
• Proven experience designing and developing low-latency, high-performance applications.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and scalability principles.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, debugging, and resolving production incidents.
• Strong ownership mindset with excellent technical decision-making and leadership skills.
• Ability to mentor engineers and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with Kafka, SQS, SNS, or other messaging and event-streaming technologies.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
• Exposure to AI, automation, chatbot, or SaaS platforms.
• Experience designing architectures for large-scale, multi-tenant systems.
