Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your embedded systems development expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative and innovative team of teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality software modules that contribute to Alstom’s mission of creating sustainable and efficient transport solutions. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Software Architects, Hardware Designers, and V&V Designers), contribute to software specifications and architecture, and ensure the successful integration of software and hardware components, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of software module design, coding, and testing, but also support integration and contribute to process improvements.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Contributing to the elaboration of software specifications and architecture, in collaboration with the Software Architect

  • Performing detailed design and coding of software modules

  • Setting up the software development toolchain

  • Preparing and performing software module tests and verifications

  • Managing configuration of software work products according to the Configuration Management Plan

  • Supporting software/hardware integration activities

  • Keeping informed of evolving technologies through continuous learning

  • Contributing to standardization by reusing and implementing reusable solutions

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software design cycle

  • Applying processes and standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives


All about you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (IT, CS, ECE, EEE, or equivalent)

  • Experience in embedded product development, including assessing requirements and leading teams

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, and C++

  • Knowledge of Linux, Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD), and multi-core/multi-threading systems

  • Understanding of networking and cybersecurity concepts

  • Hands-on experience with communication protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, serial, and wireless

  • Familiarity with tools like Wireshark or equivalent for network analysis

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (preferred)

  • Knowledge of standards such as CENELEC (preferred)
