Softball umpires play a crucial role in overseeing fair play and ensuring adherence to the rules of the game during softball matches. Their duties involve making calls on pitches, strikes, balls, and fouls, as well as determining safe or out calls on base runners. Umpires also monitor player and coach conduct, promoting sportsmanship and upholding the integrity of the game.
