Job Description

The Southern Oregon ESD Focal Student Groups program seeks a Facilitator to implement the grant activities for the American Indian / Alaska Native Student Success Grant during the current grant cycle, which runs through June 30, 2027. This person will have a workspace at the SOESD District Office in Phoenix and will visit schools in Jackson, Josephine, and Klamath Counties to support Native American Student Union clubs and meet with district staff.

The primary objective of the grant is to plan, coordinate, and implement regional student events to support the development of an AI/AN Student Advisory Council. The Facilitator will use culturally-relevant approaches and practices to support a student-created council which will elevate student voices and create greater depth of understanding of student experiences, needs, and pathways to success. By empowering these student leaders through the AI/AN Student Advisory Council, their input may be heard and valued by districts and community organizations. In addition, the Facilitator will provide support to Native American Student Union clubs in consortium districts.

If you have a strong background in the cultural context of Southern Oregon's Intertribal Native community and a passion for empowering Native youth, and can effectively build positive relationships while planning and implementing large-scale student events, we encourage you to apply for this position!
