Job Description

Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced and decisive Social Worker to join the Solihull MASH team. This is a fast-paced role at the "front door" of Children’s Services, requiring a practitioner who can navigate complex information and apply thresholds accurately to ensure families receive the right intervention at the right time.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Referral Screening: Review and screen incoming referrals to identify safeguarding concerns and determine the appropriate level of support or intervention.
  • Decision Making: Operate within a high-pressure environment to make timely, evidence-based decisions in line with MASH statutory timescales.
  • Threshold Application: Apply an expert understanding of safeguarding thresholds to ensure proportionate responses to risk.
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Attend and contribute to strategy discussions, presenting clear information to partners to aid in collective decision-making.
  • Team Support: Work collaboratively with colleagues and partners to ensure a seamless delivery of service and support during peak demand.
  • Communication: Maintain a high standard of written and verbal communication, ensuring all rationale for decisions is clearly documented.

Working Hours & Hybrid Pattern:


  • Fixed Days: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (22 hours total).

  • Daily Hours: 08:45 am – 05:20 pm.

  • Hybrid Model: You will work on an alternating schedule: one week involving 2 days in the office / 1 day at home, and the following week involving 1 day in the office / 2 days at home.

  • Induction: For the first 2 weeks, you will be required to be fully office-based to learn local processes and integrate with the team.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have,

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Post-qualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
