Day ShiftSupports and advances the mission of Mercy Medical Center through the practice of professional social work. Applies advanced psychosocial theory and methods to individuals of ages as well as couples, families and groups with appropriate regard for the complexity of given problems.
Responsibilities encompass the provision of advanced evaluative, preventive, therapeutic, restorative and personal care services to assist in meeting the complex psychosocial needs of Mercy patients and their families, thus enabling them to better utilize medical care resources in order to achieve their optimal level of health. May include providing consultative services to
rural hospitals home care agencies and long-term care facilities.
As assigned, provides social work services to patients at any and all points on the continuum of care, form pre-admission to post-discharge follow-up. May interact directly with persons in the age categories of neonate, infant, pediatrics, adolescence, adult and geriatric.
