Job Description

Liquid Personnel is recruiting two experienced Social Workers to join its client’s Adoption Recruitment and Assessment Team within Children’s Services. This specialist role focuses on the recruitment and assessment of prospective foster carers and adopters across Lancashire, Blackpool, and Blackburn with Darwen.

The role is predominantly home-based, with a mandatory office-based day every Wednesday at County Hall, Preston. Applicants must have extensive local authority experience and a strong background in fostering and/or adoption recruitment.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Undertake recruitment, assessment, and approval of prospective foster carers and adopters.
  • Complete high-quality assessments and reports in line with statutory requirements and local procedures.
  • Travel across Lancashire, Blackpool, and Blackburn with Darwen to complete assessments and visits as required.
  • Work collaboratively with adoption, fostering, and partner agencies to ensure timely and robust decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate, timely case records using electronic case management systems.
  • Contribute to panel reports and attend meetings as required.
  • Ensure all practice meets safeguarding standards and promotes positive outcomes for children.
  • Participate in supervision and reflective practice.

Essential Requirements:

To be successful in this role you must have;

  • Hold a degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
  • Be registered with Social Work England.
  • Have a minimum of three years’ experience in a permanent post within a local authority.
  • Not have held a permanent or fixed-term position with a local authority within the last 12 weeks.
  • Have essential experience in fostering and/or adoption recruitment and assessment.
  • Be willing and able to travel across Lancashire, Blackpool, and Blackburn with Darwen.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK.
