Job Description

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Children’s Social Worker to join its client’s Child Protection team, based in Cambridgeshire.

The successful candidate will work with children, young people and families where there are safeguarding and child protection concerns, ensuring that children are protected from harm and receive the support they need to achieve positive outcomes.

You will undertake assessments, manage complex child protection cases, develop effective care plans and work closely with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote their welfare.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Undertake high-quality assessments of children and families in line with statutory requirements.
  • Manage a caseload of complex child protection and safeguarding cases.
  • Identify and assess risks to children and take appropriate action to safeguard their welfare.
  • Develop, implement and review child protection and care plans.
  • Undertake statutory visits and ensure children are seen regularly and their voices are heard.
  • Work directly with children, young people, parents, carers and extended family members.
  • Prepare and present reports for child protection conferences, reviews, court proceedings and other professional meetings.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive case records.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, health professionals, police, education services and other partner agencies.
  • Participate in strategy discussions, child protection enquiries and multi-agency safeguarding processes.
  • Contribute to court proceedings where required, including preparing statements and giving evidence.
  • Promote positive outcomes for children while ensuring their safety and wellbeing remains the primary consideration.
  • Work within relevant legislation, statutory guidance, council policies and professional standards.
  • Manage competing priorities effectively while maintaining a child-centred approach.

Qualifications and Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have;

  • Social Work England registration
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Post-qualified experience
  • Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
