The successful candidate will provide comprehensive Social Work services for the Women's and Children's Program including: the Obstetrics, Birthing Suites, Paediatrics, and the NICU. This role also provides leadership, case management, and education in psychosocial issues as part of the interdisciplinary team. The individual is required to have flexibility to address urgent care as the need arises, during weekdays and on weekends, however working within a casual allocation.

Qualifications:

THP is committed to internal talent, and therefore priority will be given to internal applicants.

  • MSW (vs BSW), registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service workers required

  • 2 - 3 years of experience within Women's and Children's

  • demonstrates experience with child welfare, issues of assault and abuse, mental health, substance abuse and diversity preferred

  • experience with perinatal bereavement

  • flexibility with the management of cases and planning i.e. surrogacy, adoption etc.

  • excellent assessment, counseling and problem-solving skills

  • demonstrates ability to work well both autonomously and within a multi-disciplinary team

  • strong interpersonal, and communication skills

  • strong leadership skills

  • excellent project management abilities

  • demonstrates ability to work effectively under pressure

  • superior ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast paced environment

  • strong clinical skills

  • demonstrated facilitation and consensus-building skills
