Job Title: Social Worker – Safeguarding Adults Team
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: £37,053 – £39,513 per annum
Relocation package up to £8,000 (subject to policy criteria)
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Permanent

About the Role:

Liquid Personnel is working with our client's Adult Safeguarding Team based in Oxfordshire as they deliver Delivering the Future Together, an ambitious programme transforming adult social care across the county. This is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting team, where the focus is on empowering people, strengthening practice, and achieving positive outcomes.

As a Social Worker, you will triage safeguarding concerns and carry out proportionate Section 42 enquiries, ensuring Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) is central to all decisions. You will work collaboratively with adults, families, carers and partner agencies, using a strengths‑based, risk‑enablement approach to promote safety, wellbeing and independence.

The service offers regular supervision, manageable caseloads, ongoing professional development, and a supportive, reflective working environment that values curiosity and professional autonomy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake safeguarding enquiries in line with the Care Act 2014, ensuring adult‑centred, meaningful safeguarding practice.
  • Triages safeguarding concerns and work within agreed timeframes and statutory requirements.
  • Carry out holistic, strengths‑based assessments, reviews and interventions with adults, families and carers.
  • Develop person‑centred support plans focused on outcomes, independence and informal/community networks.
  • Complete assessments for equipment, assistive technology, and housing adaptations; provide advice on moving and handling where required.
  • Manage a varied and complex caseload independently while contributing to duty systems and emergency responses.
  • Maintain high‑quality, accurate, and defensible case records, reports and documentation.
  • Apply professional judgement to balance choice, control, risk, and protection.
  • Work effectively with a range of multi‑disciplinary partners to achieve the best outcomes for adults at risk.
  • Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately, ensuring compliance with local and national policy.
  • Participate in continuing professional development, including opportunities to progress toward roles such as Practice Educator, Best Interest Assessor or Approved Mental Health Professional.
  • Contribute to service development, team meetings, and organisational learning.

About You

You will be a reflective, committed Social Worker with a genuine passion for safeguarding and empowering adults. You’ll bring confidence, resilience, and curiosity to your work, alongside strong organisational and communication skills.

Essential requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience working within adult safeguarding, including Section 42 enquiries.
  • Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Making Safeguarding Personal.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Sound decision‑making skills within a risk‑enablement context.
  • Excellent record‑keeping, report writing and IT skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with adults, carers and partner agencies.

Desirable criteria:

  • Post‑qualifying training (e.g., BIA, AMHP, Practice Educator), or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience of equipment provision, moving and handling, or housing adaptation processes.
