The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
The social worker in this position provides social work services to patients and their families admitted for mental health treatment. The float social worker covers the planned and unplanned absences of the unit based social workers as identified by the Senior Social Worker. The social worker is responsible for covering a minimum of 6 beds, or as need indicates. As a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the social worker participates in the development and implementation of the patient’s treatment and discharge plan. The social worker is responsible for providing psychosocial and family assessments, and for the overall coordination of the discharge planning process for patients hospitalized on Adult Inpatient Psychiatry units and Pediatric Inpatient Psychiatry units. The social worker provides individual, family, or group treatment that will contribute to the implementation of a comprehensive discharge plan. The social worker also provides social work treatment in response to patient/family psychosocial problems which may impede care and/or discharge. The social worker develops interagency relationships and mobilizes community resources on behalf of the patients and/or their families.
