Exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join a new initiative with Wunan Health and Wellbeing Centre

Location: Kununurra, East Kimberley, WA

Employment Type: Full-time (8-month contract, with potential for extension)

We’re seeking an experienced Social Worker to join Wunan Health and Wellbeing and be part of our growing multidisciplinary team working together to strengthen access to holistic, culturally responsive and coordinated care.

About Wunan Health

Wunan Health and Wellbeing Centre is a purpose-driven social enterprise committed to supporting the health and wellbeing needs of all our community. Our primary health care services include an accredited private GP clinic, integrated with community services in youth mental health (headspace), disability advocacy and our new residential AOD withdrawal service (KWIC). We are proudly owned by the Wunan Foundation, an Aboriginal-led NFP organisation working to drive positive change and opportunity in the East Kimberley of WA.

About the role

As a key member of our Allied Health team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting people living with chronic conditions to access integrated, wrap-around health and social services. You’ll work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, allied health assistants and other health professionals to ensure individuals experience coordinated, seamless care across programs and services.

About you

You’re an experienced Social Worker who thrives in a collaborative environment and believes in inclusive, responsive and strengths-based care. You’ll bring experience working in complex systems and a deep understanding of how health, culture and social determinants shape people’s health, wellbeing and healing.

We recognize the importance of Aboriginal leadership, local knowledge, and cultural expertise in driving local solutions and positive change. Aboriginal people, or those with a strong connection to community, are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a highly desirable criterion for the role.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
