Job Description

We are working closely with local authority in Central Bedfordshireto assist with the appointment of a Social Worker, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay £28.28- £38.00 per hour

Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking experienced and dedicated Social Workers to join the Children Services Locality Team within the Family Help service. The role focuses on delivering high-quality social work interventions that safeguard children, strengthen families, and improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people. This role requires a passionate practitioner with strong assessment, safeguarding, and court work experience who is committed to delivering child-centred practice and achieving positive change for children and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied and complex caseload involving children, young people, and families.
  • Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection, and Court work in line with statutory requirements.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and high-quality reports for court proceedings, case conferences, and assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, procedures, and professional standards.
  • Promote safeguarding, child welfare, and early intervention practices.

Essentials

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Minimum five years post-qualifying experience within Children Services.
  • Proven ability to achieve positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport where required.

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
