The Social Work Manager provides leadership and management to the Social Work staff within the Care Coordination Department. This job sets standards for practice excellence through individual and group supervision and by self-example. The Social Work Manager provides quality customer service to patients of all ages, their families, visitors, medical staff, clinicians and co-workers, ensuring that everyone will be treated courteously, quickly and with respect. This position also collaborates with other healthcare providers and community resources to provide cost-effective health care services across-the-continuum.Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Virginia
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current LCSW
Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of seven (7) years of work experience in a medical setting to include two (2) years in a lead or supervisory role Previous work experience identifying and utilizing community resources
Experience PREFERRED Previous work experience in an academic medical center
Education/training REQUIRED:
Masters Degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program
Education/training PREFERRED: N/A
Independent action(s) required: Must be able to conduct duties and problem solve independently.
Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): Supervise over 30 Social Workers. Represents the Department within the organization, university and community.
Additional position requirements: Must be available (or able to delegate) to staff for consultation 24/7.
