• 12-month Fixed-Term | Part -time (0.6EFT)

About Forensicare
Forensicare is Victoria’s specialist forensic mental health service, providing care across inpatient, community, and prison settings. We deliver recovery-oriented services that integrate hope, social inclusion, and collaboration. Our work spans clinical care, research, and professional education, supporting individuals with mental illness who have offended or are at risk of offending.
About the Role
The Social Work Educator provides educational leadership and strategic direction for the professional development, training, education, research, and ongoing practice development of Social Workers at Forensicare. This role ensures the delivery of a comprehensive program of continuing professional education tailored to student and graduate Social Workers, as well as experienced practitioners and managers.
Key responsibilities include:
• Develop, coordinate, and evaluate education and training programs for Social Workers and contribute to interdisciplinary training intiatives.
• Establish partnerships with tertiary institutions to facilitate student placements.
• Oversee orientation and support for Social Work students and supervisors.
• Assess and monitor core competencies aligned with forensic mental health practice.
• Contribute to research, service evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Co-coordinate the Allied Health Graduate and Psychology Registrar Program.
About You:
• Knowledge and understanding of social work practice in forensic mental health or related fields
• Extensive clinical practice experience in a social work setting.
• Proven ability to plan, implement and evaluate professional development, training, and education programs.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate abstract concepts and complex ideas to different audiences.

• Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
