Social Service Coordinator

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This full time exempt position, reporting to the Director, is responsible for developing and coordinating a network of resources and services to support the development of life skills and the achievement of health and welfare needs of residents serviced by the programs

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Assessing individual resident needs regarding life skills and employment development
  • Design and implement a referral and follow up process for clients
  • Design programs that will enable each resident to achieve his/her goals as stated in the program plan
  • Interpret rules and regulations, policies and procedures, and the standards and objectives of the company and contracting agencies
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports as required by contracts.
  • Coordinating social service and employment resources
  • Act decisively, tactfully and with firmness in emergency situations;
  • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing with all levels of the organization and other components of the Criminal Justice System, and
  • Participate in mandated training and development activities
  • Meet contracting agency clearance requirements
  • Performs other work-related job duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

One year of demonstrated satisfactory performance in a social science environment, experience working with a criminal justice population is a plus. Valid driver’s license.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • The functions of the Criminal Justice System
  • The principles of community corrections, and
  • Individual and group behavior of persons with criminal backgrounds

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma
