Social Performance Team Leader – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD

Play a key leadership role in delivering Clean Energy Link (CEL) – one of Western Australia’s most significant energy transition projects.

As we accelerate the shift to a cleaner energy future, we’re looking for a Social Performance Team Leader to lead a high-performing engagement and communications team at the centre of major transmission infrastructure delivery. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we partner with communities, manage social impact and build trusted relationships across large-scale, high-profile projects.

You’ll lead a specialist team focused on project engagement and communications—setting direction, building capability and embedding best practice to drive strong, consistent social performance outcomes across our portfolio.

Your Role in Action

  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of engagement and communications professionals
  • Embed and drive best-practice social performance across major transmission projects
  • Provide expert advice on stakeholder and community engagement, project communications, social impact and heritage approvals
  • Influence project outcomes by managing complex and often sensitive social and cultural considerations
  • Strengthen relationships with communities, Traditional Owners and key stakeholders—building trust and advocacy
  • Champion the integration of stakeholder insights and cultural considerations into project decision-making
  • Drive consistency, capability uplift and continuous improvement across social performance frameworks and processes
  • Partner across the business to ensure alignment and a coordinated approach to engagement and social performance
  • Oversee budgets, resources and performance reporting to deliver sustainable, customer-focused outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements, including social impact and heritage obligations

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Social Sciences, Social Planning, Marketing, or related discipline
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise with at least 10+ years’ experience in delivering engagement and/or social performance programs in mining, construction and/or large infrastructure programs
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a professional team to achieve business goals
  • Demonstrate understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements that govern social performance outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to execute large, complex programs of work with the ability to provide significant guidance, advice, and counsel
  • Strong stakeholder management skills both within and outside of the organisation, with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills and exposure to risk management and governance processes
  • Highly developed analytical skills required to be applied to complex organisational challenges and opportunities

By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future. We are dedicated to fostering career development and promoting a healthy work-life balance, empowering you to drive innovation as we develop a network that will serve the Western Australian community for generations. • An innovative team culture that’s enabling the transition to renewable energy and decarbonisation.
  • In addition to standard leave, enjoy three wellness leave days each year.
  • Access to end-of-trip facilities at our Perth office and South Metro Depot, perfect for cyclists.
