Job Description

JOEY Restaurant Group is looking for a Social Media Specialist to lead how LOCAL Public Eatery shows up across social platforms and within culture through content, creators, and community. This role goes beyond content creation. You will own the development and execution of social strategies across brand and Employment Brand, while building and managing a network of creators and influencers that extend our brand reach, relevance, and credibility. This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC.

Annual Compensation Range

$50,000 – $68,000 / year

The salary range is dependent on skill and work experience.

Responsibilities

Social Strategy & Channel Ownership

  • Own and evolve LOCAL Public Eatery’s social media strategy across Instagram and TikTok, ensuring alignment with brand, business, and campaign priorities
  • Develop and manage content calendars and posting strategies that balance planned campaigns with real-time, reactive content
  • Partner with Marketing, Creative, Culinary, Bar and People + Culture to align social and creator efforts with broader business priorities

Content Creation & Creative Execution

  • Capture, create and edit social-first content (photo + video) that reflects the LPE brand voice and aesthetic
  • Collaborate with Creative and Marketing teams to bring campaigns and brand moments to life on social
  • Contribute to shoots and campaign planning, ensuring content is optimized for social channels
  • Bring forward ideas proactively: new formats, partnerships, and ways to show up that move the brand forward

Influencer & Creator Management

  • Identify, vet and build relationships with creators and influencers aligned with LPE's brand and audience
  • Own outreach, negotiation, and coordination of creator partnerships and collaborations
  • Develop scalable creator programs (e.g., always-on partnerships, event-based activations, seeding strategies)
  • Manage deliverables, timelines, and performance expectations for all creator partnerships
  • Ensure creator content aligns with brand standards while maintaining authenticity

Community & Brand Presence

  • Lead day-to-day community management, including DMs, comments, and engagement with followers and creators
  • Actively participate in culture and inject the brand into trending social conversations: engaging with relevant brands, creators, and trends to build brand presence
  • Monitor sentiment and surface insights from the community to the broader team

Performance, Insights & Optimization

  • Track and analyze social and creator performance (engagement, reach, growth, creator ROI, etc.)
  • Translate data into clear insights and recommendations to improve content, partnerships, and strategy
  • Test and learn continuously and identify what drives both engagement and real-world impact

Requirements

  • Experience 3+ years in social media, influencer marketing, or digital marketing (hospitality, lifestyle, or agency experience preferred)
  • Creator & Influencer Expertise Proven experience managing creators or influencer partnerships (outreach, negotiation, execution, measurement)
  • Social & Cultural Awareness Deep understanding of TikTok and Instagram, with a strong instinct for trends, creators, and cultural moments
  • Creative Execution Ability to capture and edit compelling, social-first content
  • Strategic Thinking Understands how content and creators ladder up to brand and business goals
  • Data Fluency Comfortable using performance data to guide decisions and improve results
  • Relationship Builder Strong communication skills and ability to build authentic relationships with creators and partners
  • Passion for Hospitality Genuine interest in people, experiences, and culture
  • Bonus - These aren’t requirements but if you have them, don’t hold back on mentioning them.
    • Hospitality experience
    • Marketing or digital media education
    • Familiarity with Adobe Suite, CapCut, Canva, and/or other animation and editing software
