He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The opportunity has arisen to join Auckland Libraries’ Online Engagement team as a Social Media Specialist, with a strong focus on video and content creation. This is a hands-on, creative role where you’ll take ownership of producing high-quality, engaging content across our social media channels. From concept through to execution, you’ll turn ideas into compelling stories that connect with Aucklanders and showcase the impact of our libraries, programmes and services.
A core part of this role is video production. You’ll capture and create content using both professional equipment and smartphone, and transform it into polished, high-performing assets tailored for each platform. You’ll play a key role in growing our presence across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, balancing always-on content with campaign delivery. Working as part of a collaborative and supportive team, you’ll help shape our social media strategy, bring fresh ideas, and continuously optimise content using insights and performance data.

You’re a creative storyteller who understands how to engage audiences in a fast-moving digital world. You’re confident behind the camera and in the edit suite, and you know what makes content perform across different platforms.
We are looking for someone who:
You’ll ideally bring several years’ experience in a social media or digital content role, with a proven ability to create engaging, high-performing content.
