General Summary
Under general supervision and following established policies and department procedures, the Social Media Specialist will provide marketing-related support in the areas listed below.
Essential Functions
• Plan, create, schedule, and publish content across multiple platforms including, Bank’s Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and WeChat accounts.
• Execute social media strategy through competitive research, appropriate brand messaging, and audience identification in English and Chinese.
• Monitor social media channels for trends, conversations, and engagement opportunities.
• Build meaningful internal relationships and encourage team members to support online presence through Cathay Bank content sharing.
• Refresh company pages as needed to improve visibility of the company’s social content.
• Monitor all user-generated content (comments, discussions, posts, and reviews) in line with the Bank’s policies for all platforms.
• Create and maintain editorial calendars and distribution schedules in a timely and organized manner.
• Analyze appropriate social media campaign data/metrics to provide insights, optimization recommendations, industry best practices, and business leads.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to manage reputation, identify key items, and help create/coordinate future content.
• Support photo/video capture of corporate events, graphic design, and digital marketing campaigns as needed.
• Develop more efficient operational workflows that enhance content creation, publishing, and performance analysis across all platforms.
• Communicate with and manage external vendors and agencies to ensure project deliverables are completed on time.
• Assist in the production of film projects to ensure they align with the company brand’s style.
• Assist with Chinese translation and copywriting.
Qualifications
• Education: B.A. or B.S. in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media, or Public Relations preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven working experience in social media marketing (including general market and Chinese social media platforms) or as a digital media specialist in a related industry. Banking experience a plus.
• Skills/Ability:
◦ Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as presentation skills.
◦ Fluency in reading and writing in English and Chinese (simplified and traditional).
◦ High proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
◦ Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva.
◦ Knowledge of Google Analytics is a plus.
◦ Detail-oriented with good multitasking and organizational skills.
◦ Willingness to work overtime occasionally to accomplish and meet deadlines.
OTHER DETAILS
$31.25 – $35.10 / hour
Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
