In this role, you'll:


Join our Operations Communications team, where you will lead the delivery of real-time social media communications that keep customers informed and moving across the transport network.

In this role, you will oversee how operational information is translated into clear, timely and engaging social media content during disruptions, incidents and major events. You will lead a team operating in a fast-paced, operational environment, ensuring messaging is accurate, consistent and supports customer decision-making in critical moments.

You will:


- Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team, driving performance, capability uplift and a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement


- Provide day-of-operations support within the Transport Management Centre, ensuring real-time communication aligns with operational priorities


- Oversee the delivery of timely and accurate social media updates during unplanned disruptions and major events


- Monitor social media channels to identify emerging issues, respond appropriately and escalate where required


- Develop and manage content strategies, campaigns and messaging approaches to improve engagement and public awareness


- Lead briefings and coordination across teams to ensure consistent and aligned communication


- Review social media performance and analytics, providing insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement


- Champion best practice use of social media across the Communications team, including coaching and training team members


- Build subject matter expertise across systems, tools and operational environments to enhance communication effectiveness.

This is a Permanent, Full Time position located at our Transport Management Centre (TMC) at Eveleigh. Due to the operational nature of this team, you will be required to work outside standard business hours to support operational demands when required.

About you


Your strong experience delivering real-time social media communications in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment will be critical to your success.

You are known for your ability to simplify complex operational information into clear, concise and engaging content that resonates with a broad audience. Your expertise in social media platforms, tools and analytics allows you to confidently manage performance, identify trends and continuously improve engagement outcomes.

You bring a proven track record of leading teams, developing capability and fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment. Your ability to make sound decisions under pressure ensures messaging remains accurate, timely and aligned during rapidly evolving situations.

You have a strong understanding of social media best practice, emerging trends and technologies, and know how to apply these in an operational context.

Your stakeholder engagement skills enable you to work effectively across teams, ensuring communication is coordinated, consistent and aligned to operational priorities.

Tertiary qualifications in communications or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
