Job Description

FirstBank is seeking a talented Social Media Specialist to lead our corporate social media strategies, content and execution of the organization’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other platforms. This role requires collaboration with the marketing team and ability to work with the public to gain content, as well as having the ability to discern the quality of content being used. The Social Media Specialist will serve as the point person for execution of the social media strategy. The role requires flexibility to acquire social media content from within and outside the organization. This dynamic social media marketer will further develop our social media marketing strategy to nurture audiences and increase engagement. We’re looking for the right individual to help us grow our social media presence and deliver best in class social media and/or influencer marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Experience producing content for social media
  • Excellent social copy writing skills
  • Manage day-to-day posting and multiple concurrent social media initiatives with relevant messaging, monitoring and sharing daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) through all social channels
  • In collaboration with the Corporate Advertising Manager, lead the strategic development of our social media campaign strategy
  • Ensure brand visual and voice consistency across all social media executions
  • Monitor and respond to social media comments and feedback, creating engagement with our followers while building meaningful connections
  • Maintain a content calendar and strategy and own its success with prospects and customers
  • Develop dashboards, track and communicate key metrics including engagement, monitoring and improving on social media activity
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on social media best practices, process and policy within the marketing team and organization
  • Help create a cross-functional collaborative environment with FirstBank Mortgage marketing on corporate initiatives, social media shared best practices and identify cross sell opportunities
  • Stay abreast of emerging social media marketing trends, bringing fresh, creative thinking to leverage growth tactics in the most effective ways

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations
  • Minimum 5-7 years of social media experience with proven success in social platforms, such as, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter
  • Financial services/bank marketing experience a plus

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication, writing and editing skills and ability to translate industry or technical content into engaging social media content
  • Excellent storytelling skills, comfortable sharing creative ideas with the team
  • Strong passion for building and engaging with our community, creativity and performance
  • Detail orientated and organized. Strong attention to detail and able to flex to meet business needs and demands as they change.
