This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and influential social media professional to lead and shape CITB's social media presence, driving engagement, reputation and impact across multiple brands and audiences.
The Social Media Manager is accountable for the development and delivery of CITB's social media strategy across all owned channels, ensuring social media plays a central role in supporting organisational priorities, influencing audience perception and strengthening CITB's relationship with industry stakeholders.
Operating across multiple brands, including CITB, Go Construct and SkillBuild, the role requires a confident and resilient leader who can balance competing priorities, challenge constructively and provide expert advice to senior stakeholders. As the organisation's subject matter expert for social media, you will lead the evolution of our social channels, identifying emerging opportunities, driving innovation and ensuring social media is fully integrated into wider communications, marketing and engagement strategies.
The role holder manages both organic and paid social activity, ensuring content is audience-led, insight-driven and aligned to organisational objectives. Working closely with colleagues across Marketing and Communications, Content Creation and external partners, you will use data, performance insights and audience intelligence to continuously optimise activity and maximise impact.
This role has significant influence over how CITB, Go Construct and SkillBuild are perceived across digital channels and plays a key role in protecting and enhancing organisational reputation.
The Social Media Manager is responsible for strategic and operational decision-making relating to social media activity, audience engagement, content direction and channel performance. The role holder will be expected to confidently challenge, influence and advise stakeholders at all levels, ensuring social media activity remains aligned to organisational priorities and audience needs.
The role requires resilience, sound judgement and the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment, often managing competing priorities, reputational risks and emerging issues. The impact of this role extends beyond social media performance, contributing directly to CITB's wider engagement, communications and trust-building objectives.
