43 North Apartments is a locally owned property management company with about 175 apartments in downtown Madison, many within walking distance of the UW campus. We’re a small, hands-on team that manages and leases our own buildings, so interns work directly with ownership and see their impact right away.

Social Media Intern – 43 North Apartments

About Us

43 North Apartments is a locally owned and operated property management company with about 175 apartments in downtown Madison, many of them steps from campus. We’re a small team, so your work will be seen and will matter.

The Role

We’re hiring a student to own our social media presence on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. This is a content and engagement role only. Your job is to create posts people want to watch, grow our following, and turn that attention into leasing inquiries. You will not handle leasing, tours, or tenant issues; you’ll pass interested prospects to our leasing team.

What You’ll Do

• Plan and post content on a consistent schedule: at least [4–5] posts per week across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
• Shoot and edit short-form video: unit tours, building amenities, neighborhood spots, move-in tips, and student-life content that fits the platform
• Respond to comments and DMs quickly, and route leasing questions to our team using our lead process
• Drive traffic to rent43north.com and our tour scheduling during peak leasing season
• Track what’s working (reach, engagement, follower growth, inquiries from social) and share a short weekly recap
• Keep all content within Fair Housing guidelines (we’ll train you on this)

What We’re Looking For

• Current UW–Madison student, any major
• You already know how TikTok and Reels work: hooks, trends, captions, and pacing
• Comfortable on camera or behind it, with basic video editing skills (CapCut, InDesign, Canva, or similar)
• Reliable and self-directed; you can keep a posting schedule without reminders
• Bonus: a personal or club account you’ve grown, or a portfolio of content you’ve made

• [10–15] hours per week, flexible around your class schedule
• Pay: $15-20/hour
• Some on-site shooting at our downtown Madison properties; the rest can be remote
