Get to Know the Role:

American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. is seeking a culturally in-tune, highly organized, and social media-savvy Social Media Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This entry-level role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes internet culture, has a strong grasp of Gen-Z trends, and is excited to build a career in social media and brand storytelling. As a Social Media Coordinator, you’ll be on the front lines of community engagement, helping us connect with our audience through thoughtful interactions and timely content. What You’ll Do:

  • Community Engagement: Manage daily interactions across AE’s social platforms, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, YouTube, Snap and more. Respond to tags, comments, and UGC to cultivate brand love while maintaining a witty, Gen-Z-aligned voice. Share audience sentiment and key insights with the broader team to inform strategy.
  • Content Support: Assist with planning, scheduling, and posting content; help pivot in real time based on trends and performance. Support in creating static and video by attending IRL events and capturing in store content.
  • Performance Insights: Track weekly metrics, highlight wins and opportunities, and share data-driven recommendations to refine strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Paid Social, PR, and Influencer teams to ensure campaign alignment and support execution needs.
  • Trend Spotting: Stay plugged into Gen-Z culture, emerging memes, and platform updates—sharing insights and ideas during brainstorms.
  • Live & Cultural Coverage: Provide occasional social support during key brand moments, which may include evenings or weekends.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in social media, digital marketing, or content creation.
  • Familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, and short-form video trends, plus a curiosity to learn more.
  • Strong copywriting and communication skills; ability to write in a sharp, Gen-Z-friendly voice.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple tasks at once.
  • A team player with a proactive attitude and passion for youth culture.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Google Slides, and Google Docs.
  • Bonus: Experience using social media management platforms (like Dash Hudson, Monday.com, etc.).
