SOCIAL MEDIA & CONTENT MANAGER

Hybrid · Marketing · Full-Time

Phoenix, Arizona, United States

Employment Type: Full-Time (Hourly)

Reports To: Marketing Director

About Too Sweet Cakes

Too Sweet Cakes is a community-rooted bakery brand with retail and production operations across Arizona and Oregon. We make beautiful, craveable food — and we believe how we show up online should feel just as intentional as what comes out of our ovens. As we continue to grow, we're building a marketing team that can keep pace with the momentum.

We're looking for a Social Media & Content Manager who can own our brand's presence across platforms — not just post content, but think strategically about why, when, and how we show up. This role blends content creation, copywriting, community engagement, and platform strategy into one seat. You'll be the person who makes sure Too Sweet Cakes tells a consistent, compelling story everywhere our audience finds us.

You'll work closely with our Marketing Director and creative team to develop and execute social strategy, create content that connects, and build real community around a brand people already love.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Ownership

  • Own and manage Too Sweet Cakes' presence across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and emerging platforms
  • Develop and execute platform-specific strategies — understanding that what works on TikTok isn't what works on LinkedIn
  • Monitor content performance, surface insights, and translate data into strategic recommendations that move the brand forward
  • Stay ahead of platform algorithm changes, trends, and best practices, adapting our approach proactively rather than reactively

Content Creation & Copywriting

  • Concept, create, and produce engaging content including static posts, carousels, Stories, Reels, and TikToks
  • Write compelling copy across platforms — captions, campaign messaging, community responses — with a consistent brand voice
  • Maintain and execute a content calendar that keeps our posting cadence consistent, timely, and aligned with seasonal campaigns
  • Collaborate with the design and marketing team to bring campaign ideas to life from concept through execution

Community Management

  • Engage authentically with our online community — responding to comments, DMs, and mentions in a way that builds genuine connection
  • Monitor brand sentiment and flag opportunities or concerns as they arise
  • Identify and nurture relationships with local community members, creators, and brand advocates

In-Person Presence

  • Spend time in both our retail and warehouse environments to stay connected to the product and team (minimum 2 days/week in-person)
  • Capture on-site content at retail locations and production spaces as needed

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in social media management, content creation, or a related marketing role
  • Demonstrated experience owning platform strategy — not just scheduling posts, but deciding what to post and why
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt voice and tone across platforms and audiences
  • Proficiency in content creation tools — Canva is a must; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or equivalent) is a strong plus
  • Experience creating short-form video content with an understanding of what performs on Instagram and TikTok
  • Comfort with social analytics — you know which metrics matter and how to turn numbers into next steps
  • Hands-on experience managing multiple platforms simultaneously
  • A sharp eye for aesthetics, brand consistency, and visual storytelling
  • Self-starter who brings ideas and solutions, not just execution
  • Bonus: photography skills, experience with food or lifestyle brands

Portfolio Requirement

A portfolio or examples of your work are required to be considered for this role. Please include examples of social media content you've created and managed (posts, Stories, Reels, campaigns), copywriting samples, and any work that demonstrates strategic thinking — not just creative output. Links to live brand accounts you've managed are welcome. Applications without work samples will not be reviewed.

Benefits

Compensation & Benefits

  • $23–$28 per hour, commensurate with experience
  • Full-time hours
  • Benefits eligible — medical, dental, and vision available
  • Sick time
  • 401(k) — coming soon

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Flexibility: Hybrid schedule with remote-flexible days outside of your 2 required in-person days
  • Real Impact: Own the social strategy and voice of a growing, beloved local brand
  • Creative Ownership: This isn't an asset-production role — you'll shape what we say, how we say it, and where we show up
  • Growth Opportunity: Join a small, collaborative marketing team with room to grow as the brand does
Too Sweet Cakes

About Too Sweet Cakes

Every great story starts with a dream—and ours began with a simple one: to create pastries that not only tasted incredible but made people feel cared for.

Too Sweet Cakes was founded in 2016 by Shelbi Geyer, whose love for baking started as a young girl, sketching cake designs and dreaming of one day opening her own bakery. That dream stayed with her, fueled by a passion for creativity, connection, and a belief that food could be something truly meaningful.

What started as a small wholesale bakery quickly grew into something more. In 2018, we opened our first storefront in Bend, Oregon, creating a space where pastries weren’t just desserts—they were memories in the making. From there Too Sweet Cakes expanded to Lake Oswego, and today, we proudly operate four retail locations across Oregon and Arizona, with a fifth location opening in 2026 in Paradise Valley, Arizona.

Beyond our storefronts, you’ll find Too Sweet Cakes pastries featured in over 100 locations across Oregon, Washington, and Arizona. It’s been an incredible journey—one made possible by the extraordinary team who has brought their talents, heart, and dedication into every part of the business.

Our team of bakers, decorators, and visionaries are the heartbeat of Too Sweet Cakes. Together, we share a mission that’s never changed: to love people well through pastries.

As we continue to grow, we remain rooted in the values that sparked it all—creativity, community, and a deep love for making people feel special. We are so grateful to every customer, partner, and community who has supported our journey—and we can’t wait to celebrate even more sweet moments with you, one bite at a time.
