AT A GLANCE:
Broad River Retail is seeking a Social Media Associate to support the creation of engaging content and the growth of developing social media channels.
This developmental position is designed for an emerging content creator who wants hands-on experience producing short-form video, testing content strategies, and helping grow Broad River Retail's presence across TikTok, Facebook Reels, Instagram Reels, and future social platforms.
This role will create content, identify trends, test new formats, and contribute recommendations that help guide future channel growth and investment.
This role serves as a developmental pathway toward a future Social Media Coordinator position.
The Social Media Associate will report directly to the Senior Communications Manager and work closely with the Social Media Specialist on content development, channel growth initiatives, and creative projects.
DAY IN THE LIFE AS A MEMORY MAKER:
Short-Form Video Content Creation
- Create engaging video content for TikTok, Facebook Reels, Instagram Reels, LinkedIn, and future social platforms.
- Capture and edit short-form video content that supports company culture, leadership visibility, recruiting efforts, community engagement, and brand storytelling.
- Research trends, formats, and creative opportunities that align with Broad River Retail's brand and audience.
- Contribute to the development of repeatable content series that can scale across multiple platforms.
Growth Channel Development
- Support the development of Broad River Retail's presence on developing social platforms.
- Monitor platform trends, audience behavior, and evolving content formats.
- Identify opportunities for experimentation and growth.
- Test content concepts, formats, publishing approaches, and content series.
- Document learnings and share recommendations with the Communications Team.
- Contribute to the development of repeatable channel strategies and best practices.
- Develop recommendations for future channel ownership, content strategy, and platform investment.
Channel Testing & Insights
- Evaluate the performance of developing social media channels.
- Track content trends, audience engagement patterns, and platform changes.
- Maintain observations and recommendations related to channel growth opportunities.
- Contribute to quarterly reviews of social media platforms and content performance.
- Identify scalable content strategies and growth opportunities for future investment.
Social Media Operations
- Support content scheduling and publishing.
- Support audience engagement and community management efforts.
- Contribute to content calendar planning and campaign execution.
- Help track social media performance and identify content opportunities.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the Social Media Specialist on content development and execution.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and campaign planning.
- Support communications projects and special initiatives as assigned.
- Contribute creative ideas that help advance Broad River Retail's communications strategy.

QualificationsWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Skilled in social media, content creation, storytelling, and digital communications.
- Experience creating content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or similar platforms.
- Basic proficiency with video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Curious, creative, and willing to experiment with new ideas and formats.
WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is:
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative team environment within an office setting
- This role is part time
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Employees must arrange an appropriate workspace that ensures their productivity. Must be able to take and participate in virtual meetings, on-camera, and calls with minimal distraction
