Knox City Council is seeking a Social Media Advisor to join our Digital team and play an important role in creating content for the Knox City Council social media channels in a fixed term position until November 2027.

You will:

• source, create and moderate content that is engaging or useful to our target audiences.
• apply your expert knowledge across both organic and paid content to increase engagement, expand community reach and connect audiences with relevant Council information and services.
• source creative content ideas that use storytelling as well as the latest trends and features.
• draw insights from data to inform future content and improve audience understanding and engagement.
• build relationships with stakeholders across the business.
• play an important role in creating content for our social media channels, helping connect our community with Council information, services, programs and opportunities to participate in local life.

This is a fixed term position until November 2027 based at our Civic Centre, however we can offer a range of flexible work options for the right candidate.

This is a full-time Band 6 classified role. Remuneration will be $102,287.48 - $111,713.31 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.

What you will bring to this role

The key selection criteria for this role are:

• Be curious about the world around you and the people in it, with a demonstrated ability to source and create content that is relevant and interesting to our audiences and achieves organisational objectives.
• Think creatively to find new ways to increase engagement, reach diverse audiences and continually improve the effectiveness of communication and engagement through social media platforms.
• Use your well-honed interpersonal skills to proactively build networks within Council to source content, moderate conversations and build capability to identify opportunities for great content.
• Demonstrated relationship management skills and consulting skills including the ability to interact with a variety of customers and stakeholders.
• Well-developed planning and organisational skills, with experience establishing priorities, implementing improvements and meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency with social media ad platforms, content scheduling platforms and analytical platforms.
• A demonstrated ability to create, interpret and provide insights on social media data, and use those insights to improve future content.
• Experience working with both organic content and paid campaigns.
