Scope of Responsibilities

  • Strategic Oversight: Lead the development and execution of a localized content and social media roadmap that aligns with broader business objectives.

  • Content Ecosystem Management: Oversee the creation, adaptation, and validation of content for all digital touchpoints, including social platforms and eCommerce PDPs (Product Detail Pages).

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as the primary liaison between Brand Marketing, global content hubs, and external creative agencies to ensure brand consistency and executional excellence.

  • Performance Optimization: Utilize data-driven insights to audit content integrity and optimize social media engagement to drive measurable business growth.

Core Responsibilities

1. Social Media Strategy & Community Management

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive social media content calendar tailored to key defined countries within Sub-Sahara Africa and cultural moments.

  • Lead the strategy for "always-on" and promotional social content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.) to build community and drive brand advocacy.

  • Direct agency partners in the development of online media content, including creative assets, headlines, and descriptions optimized for platform-specific algorithms.

2. Content Creation & Merchandising

  • Orchestrate the development of "above-the-fold" web content and enhanced content optimized for SEO and consumer engagement.

  • Coordinate thumbnail and PDP adaptations, ensuring all claims are validated and compliant with local regulatory standards.

  • Manage promotional design for both on-site (eCommerce) and off-site digital vehicles to ensure a seamless consumer journey.

3. Governance, Audit & Compliance

  • Conduct regular audits for compliance and content integrity across all digital platforms to protect corporate assets and brand equity.

  • Ensure all content aligns with Colgate-Palmolive’s global values, sustainability commitments, and diversity standards.

  • Manage the content budget, agency invoicing, and resource planning to ensure projects are delivered on time and within financial parameters.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a reputable university in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Experience: * At least 3 years of proven experience in digital marketing with hands-on content creation and social media optimization.

    • Prior experience in the FMCG industry or tech-based industries is highly preferred.

    • Demonstrated experience in a leadership or senior capacity, managing multi-level stakeholder groups.

  • Technical Skills: * Solid understanding of digital ecosystems, social media analytics, and eCommerce platforms.

    • Expertise in content management workflows and SEO-optimized writing.

    • Highly proficient in Google Suite and social listening tools.
