Salary Range: Band 8: AUD: $150,432.00 - $162,791.00 + Superannuation plus additional remuneration and benefits dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate

The Business

Planning and Design consists of over 200 professionals with extensive experience delivering excellence in design of civil and civic infrastructure projects for Council.

As a professional services branch within Infrastructure Services, the team is committed to delivering successful design and infrastructure planning outcomes that balance cost and environmental considerations with community-friendly infrastructure.

Planning and Design partners with a range of Council program areas and provides a significant contribution to almost all the infrastructure works delivered by Council.

The Role

The successful candidate for the role will ensure successful coordination and engagement of Public Utility Authorities (PUA), ensuring successful interface with design and delivery of major infrastructure projects to minimise project delays, conflicts, safety risks, traffic congestion and inconvenience to road-users, pedestrians and adjacent property owners. A key responsibility will be to identify the design impacts on Public Utility Plant (PUP) during the design and development phase.

To be successful you will have:

• demonstrated experience in leading project teams to achieve strong performance benchmarks
• demonstrated experience in design coordination, maintenance and/or construction of public utility infrastructure such as Energex, Telstra, Urban Utilities;
• experience in contract administration/management, and experience in determining non-conformances to relevant standards and management of appropriate mitigating actions;
• demonstrated high level of competence in interpreting Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) information;
• high level of consultation, negotiation, networking, advocacy and both oral and written communication skills;
• knowledge of, and the ability to apply, the relevant Workplace Health and Safety, Environmental and quality policies and procedures in the operational field environment.

A tertiary qualification in Engineering or Project Management and a current “C” Class driver’s licence are mandatory requirements for this role.
