Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe workplace. This role provides technical leadership, conducts risk assessments, and drives continuous improvement in EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Lead EHS audits and inspections; recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to staff on EHS matters.
  • Analyze EHS data and trends; prepare reports for management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into operations and projects.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and environmental stewardship.
  • Manage EHS documentation and maintain records.
  • Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
  • Assist in facility maintenance planning, upgrades, and renovations to ensure EHS compliance.
  • Coordinate with facilities teams on building systems (HVAC, fire safety, waste management, etc.) to optimize safety and efficiency.
  • Support facility inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in EHS engineering, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards (OSHA & ISO 14001, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Technical expertise in EHS risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Well organized team player, with high attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
  • Leadership in driving EHS culture and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in EHS management systems and reporting tools.
  • Training and mentoring capabilities.
  • Physical & Environmental Requirements:
  • Ability to work in office and industrial environments.
  • May require occasional travel to other sites in Cork and Dublin
  • Ability to conduct site inspections and respond to emergencies.

Ability to multitask, maintain ahead-of-schedule work flow and effectively co -ordinate people and project/ tasks
