Snowmaking Supervisor/Manager

Position Summary
The Snowmaking Supervisor will lead and execute all snowmaking operations at Pajarito Mountain while playing a key role in the installation and startup of our expanded snowmaking infrastructure. This includes supervising staff, coordinating contractors and internal teams, supporting system commissioning, and helping shape how the new system operates long-term.
This role offers a rare opportunity to be part of building a modern snowmaking program from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily snowmaking operations, including startup, monitoring, and shutdown procedures
- Supervise, train, and schedule snowmaking staff
- Play an active role in the installation and commissioning of new snowmaking infrastructure, including pipeline, hydrants, pumps, and guns
- Coordinate with contractors, mountain operations, and project leadership during buildout
- Help develop operational standards and workflows for the expanded system
- Operate and maintain snow guns, pumps, compressors, hydrants, and related infrastructure
- Monitor weather conditions and make production decisions to maximize efficiency and coverage
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational best practices
- Troubleshoot mechanical and system issues in real time
- Manage labor and resources during peak snowmaking window
Preferred Experience
- Experience installing or commissioning snowmaking systems
- Pump house or compressor operations
- Hydraulics, electrical, or industrial systems knowledge
- Experience with large-scale infrastructure or capital projects

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
- Previous snowmaking experience at a ski area
- Supervisory or team leadership experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Experience working nights, long shifts, and in severe winter conditions
- Ability to coordinate multiple priorities under time pressure
- Strong communication and team-building skills
