Snowmaking is the insurance policy that allows Panorama to open early and sustain a quality and durable product until closing. The position of snowmaker is what truly makes it happen. Snowmaking operates for up to 3 months, 24 hours/day Members of the snowmaking department are responsible for operating our top-of-the-line snowmaking equipment to produce a quality product for skiers and snowboarders. Snowmakers have the privilege of fulfilling their tasks on the side of a mountain with a backdrop of magnificent mountain views, sunrises, sunsets, and majestic northern lights.
Essential functions:
• Participate in Snowmaking training and understand snowmaking safety policies, develop an understanding of the operation of our snowmaking system, operational techniques, and how to produce quality snow product.
• The snowmaker reports to the shift foreman and is responsible for executing assigned tasks in accordance with Panorama’s operational techniques and safety policies.
• Tasks may include but are not limited to transporting and setting up snow guns and hoses, operating and maintaining snow guns, operating snowmobiles.
Experience/Requirements:
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Mechanical knowledge is an asset.
• Snowmaking experience preferred.
• Able to perform in severe and inclement conditions for sustained periods of time.
• Willing to work on day, afternoon, or night shifts.
• Must be able to lift 60lbs.
• Must be physically fit.
