As a Snowflake Data Engineer, you will work at the intersection of data, technology, and business, helping our clients design and scale modern data platforms that turn complexity into clarity and insights into impact.
You will play a key role in a strategic data platform migration from Databricks to Snowflake, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in an international environment and contributing to projects that drive performance, innovation, and dataādriven decisionāmaking ā particularly for complex analytical and financial reporting use cases.

In this role, you will:
Architect, design, and manage endātoāend Snowflakeābased data platforms, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability
Lead data modelling initiatives (dimensional, normalised, and hybrid models) to support complex analytical and financial reporting needs
Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines, including orchestration, data ingestion, and realātime or nearārealātime streaming integrations
Collaborate with stakeholders to analyse data requirements, translating business needs into effective data architecture designs.
Ensure best practices in Snowflake implementation, including performance optimisation, security, access control, and storage management.
Develop advanced SQL and Python scripts for data transformation, automation, and validation
Integrate DevOps practices such as CI/CD and infrastructureāasācode into the data engineering lifecycle
Provide architectural leadership and mentoring to data engineers, fostering high standards for delivery, documentation, and collaboration
Support proofs of concept (POCs) and contribute to technical evaluations of tools and technologies
You will work in complex, evolving enterprise data environments
You will balance architectural rigour with pragmatic delivery
You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders across teams, cultures, and time zones
As a senior contractor, autonomy is high ā and so is responsibility
7+ years of experience in data engineering, including at least 3 years architecting Snowflake solutions at scale
Strong expertise in SQL and performance tuning for large analytical workloads
Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture (storage, virtual warehouses, query optimisation, data sharing)
Proven experience with data modelling (3NF, star/snowflake schemas, analytical data marts)
Handsāon experience with ETL/ELT and orchestration tools (e.g. dbt, Airflow, Dataiku, Talend)
Fluency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation and transformation tasks.
Solid understanding of DevOps practices in data environments (CI/CD, version control, IaC)
Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders
Fluency in English
Must be Europeābased and able to work as a contractor
Experience in consulting or clientāfacing environments
Exposure to Databricks to Snowflake migration projects
Experience with cloud platforms ( AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of realātime data processing frameworks (Kafka, Spark Streaming)
Background in financial services or insurance is a plus
