
Position No. 50452.SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY, Dedman College, Dallas TX. The Department of Biological Sciences seeks a non-tenure track lecturer to join our collaborative and diverse team. The successful candidate will oversee approximately 10 introductory biology labsections inboththefallandspringsemestersandwillsupervisethe activitiesofalabtechnicianandgraduateteachingassistants.Whiletheprimaryappointmentis for the 9-month academic year,opportunities for additional compensation are available for teachingduring JanuaryIntersession(JanTerm) andSummerSessionsIandII. Candidatesable and willing to teach one laboratory section during these terms arestrongly preferred.Acompetitivesalarywillbeoffered. Although the initial appointment will be for one-year, this is intended to be a long-term position and there is a promotion track.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology or related field. Because this is a teaching intensive position, applicants must enjoy working with undergraduate students. Demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate laboratory courses, especially in introductory biology, is preferred.
