Job Description

We are looking for an SMT Process Engineer to support our electronics manufacturing operations. In this high-impact role, you will act as Resideo’ s subject matter expert for SMT, helping to build and strengthen our SMT capability and playing a key role in the delivery of our New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will take ownership of key manufacturing processes across SMT, THT and assembly, ensuring our production lines operate safely, efficiently and consistently while achieving the required quality and productivity standards.

Working closely with Production, Quality, R&D, Test & Automation, Maintenance and other engineering teams, you will help develop and optimise our SMT processes, introduce new manufacturing capabilities, resolve complex technical and quality issues, and drive continuous improvement.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide technical and engineering support for assigned Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production areas, assembly lines and manufacturing cells
  • Ensure the efficient, stable and continuous operation of SMT processes used in electronics manufacturing
  • Define, optimise and continuously monitor key SMT processes, including solder paste printing, component placement and reflow soldering
  • Define and maintain Through-Hole Technology (THT) manufacturing processes
  • Support the introduction, installation and ramp-up of new SMT production lines and manual assembly lines
  • Create, maintain and continuously improve production process documentation, including Process Maps, FMEAs and Work Instructions
  • Support the creation, implementation and maintenance of Control Plans (CP)
  • Manage production process changes from technical assessment and approval through to implementation and follow-up
  • Maintain and improve production line and process control systems
  • Work closely with Quality and Production teams to reduce defects identified through AOI, ICT and FCT inspection and testing processes
  • Lead and support root cause analysis for production non-conformities, identifying corrective actions and supporting their implementation
  • Analyse manufacturing data and prepare reports using production line control systems and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) data
  • Identify and support continuous improvement, productivity, quality and process optimisation projects across assigned production areas
  • Provide technical support during significant machine breakdowns, including root cause analysis and coordination of corrective or repair activities
  • Support the technical investigation and analysis of customer complaints related to manufacturing processes
  • Support the development and execution of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities, including contributing to spare-parts requirements
  • Use manufacturing performance, quality and process data to identify opportunities for improved reliability, efficiency and production performance

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Knowledge of electronics and printed circuit boards (PCBs), with experience of electronic manufacturing processes such as Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-Hole Technology (THT)
  • Proven experience in a Process, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering role (or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvements within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

WE VALUE:

  • Innovative thinkers and strong team players
  • Experience working with quality management systems
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • A strong commitment to Health & Safety standard

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:

  • Family Friendly Certified Workplace where every employee is genuinely valued
  • 5% of gross salary contribution to a SZÉP Card, Health Fund, or Pension Fund
  • Flexible working hours supporting a healthy work life balance
