Senior Consultant – VMware VCF (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria Suite)

Location: Australia | East Coast

Job Summary: A highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant to provide expert consulting and implementation services to clients using VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). This role involves working closely with customers to design, implement, and optimize VMware VCF-based solutions, including VCF, vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and Aria Suite. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in VMware technologies and will possess a strong ability to deliver high-quality client facing technical consulting, solution design, and deployment services.

Key Responsibilities

• Consulting & Solution Design: Engage with customers to understand their infrastructure requirements and design VMware VCF-based solutions tailored to their business needs. Provide strategic guidance on cloud infrastructure, automation, and optimization.
• Implementation & Deployment: Lead the end-to-end deployment and implementation of VMware VCF solutions, including installation, configuration, and integration of VMware technologies (vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria Suite). Ensure successful solution delivery, with a focus on high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on VMware VCF, providing leadership and mentorship to junior consultants and internal teams. Review designs, lead troubleshooting efforts, and ensure that best practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
• Customer Engagement: Work closely with customers to gather requirements, explain VMware VCF features and capabilities, and align solutions with their business and technical objectives. Provide continuous support and guidance throughout the project.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify and resolve complex issues related to VMware VCF solutions, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. Perform regular performance tuning, upgrades, and optimizations of deployed environments.
• Documentation & Training: Produce high-quality documentation, including implementation guides, best practices, and architecture diagrams. Provide training to customers on VMware VCF solutions to ensure proper use and maintenance of the implemented systems.

Skill Requirements

• Extensive experience (8+ years) working with VMware technologies such as vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and Aria Suite in a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and experience in deploying and managing full-stack solutions on VCF.
• Technical proficiency with virtualization, cloud technologies, and enterprise infrastructure components.
• Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as VMware Aria Suite, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong customer-facing communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• VMware Certifications such as VCP, VCAP, or VCDX are highly desirable.

Other Requirements

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures, including VMware on AWS (VMware Cloud on AWS). Google, Azure or other cloud providers.
• Understanding of networking, storage, and security concepts, particularly in VMware environments.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools.
• VMware Cloud Foundation (mandatory skill)
