Job Description

Leidos is seeking an experienced Smartsheet SME who is interested in supporting large information technology projects for our Utility Technologies Solutions team. In this role, you will be driving the execution and delivery of IT projects for our electric utility client. Additionally, you will ensure the successful delivery of projects while adhering Leidos' Mission, Vision, and Values.

We are seeking a hands-on Smartsheet Solutions Architect to enhance and optimize an existing Smartsheet environment. This role will work directly with business and technical teams to improve workflows, dashboards, reporting, automation, and integrations with SAP and other SaaS platforms.

This is not primarily a Smartsheet administrator role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly in Smartsheet to design, build, test, and implement practical solutions.

Location: Candidates local to Newark, NJ are preferred and must be able to work onsite at the client's office three days per week. Candidates located elsewhere on the East Coast will also be considered, provided they are able to travel to New Jersey.

Salary: This is potentially a 3-month engagement paying a rate of $60-65/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate existing Smartsheet solutions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Enhance sheets, dashboards, reports, forms, formulas, and automated workflows.
  • Design and support integrations between Smartsheet, SAP, and other SaaS applications.
  • Use APIs, connectors, middleware, or file-based data exchanges to support system integration.
  • Troubleshoot data, workflow, reporting, and integration issues.
  • Partner with business users and technical teams to translate needs into scalable solutions.
  • Document enhancements and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 4+ years of experience working as an architect with experience in designing, enhancing and supporting Smartsheet’s. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Hands-on experience building and enhancing Smartsheet solutions.
  • Experience with Smartsheet dashboards, reports, workflows, formulas, and automation.
  • Experience integrating SaaS platforms using APIs, connectors, middleware, or similar tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP integrations is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Smartsheet premium applications such as Control Center, Data Shuttle, DataMesh, Dynamic View, or Bridge is a plus.
  • Prior experience working within utilities or other highly regulated industries preferred.

This position requires access to information subject to U.S. Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 export control requirements. To be eligible for the required access, candidates must meet client’s Part 810 requirements, which may include being a U.S. citizen or national, a non-conditional U.S. lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder), a qualifying Protected Individual, or an eligible citizen/national/permanent resident of a Generally Authorized destination. Eligibility and required documentation will be confirmed as part of the onboarding process.
