REPORTS TO: Business Banking Credit Analyst Team Lead

DATE: March 6, 2026

Objective

Supports the Bank’s objective of enhancing the value of the group by increasing sales-force efficiency through the delivery of underwriting support, guidance, and portfolio services. This position requires leveraging prior experience and applying strong analytical skills to develop well-supported recommendations for Credit Officers in support of loan decisions up to $2MM.

Essential Functions

  • Provide assistance in structuring, pricing and approving small business banking loans.
  • Review and analyze new and maturing loan applications, financial statements, and other supporting documentation of borrowers and guarantors to effectively decision credit requests.
  • Utilize the Bank’s spreading software, Loan Vantage, to accurately and efficiently process credit requests.
  • Communicate loan decisions and recommendations.
  • Monitor and remain apprised of underwriting practices and assist the Credit Officer in communicating these practices.
  • Direct loans through the due diligence and documentation processes.
  • Seek to maintain appropriate levels of credit quality in origination, renewal and monitoring portfolio of small business banking loans, consistent with overall objectives of the Department.
  • Perform periodic review of all credit, loan, and collateral files to ensure information is current, cure exceptions, and report difficulties.
  • Underwrite a portfolio of existing loans, working directly with the Banking Officers to process new money requests and maturities.
  • Provide appropriate turnaround time on loan applications, meeting the minimum service goals for the Department.

  • Skillset sufficient to translate analytical skills into recommendations in support of loan decisions.
  • Willingness and ability to work closely with Banking Officers, the retail branches, the commercial lending team and customers.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting, the opportunity to telework is not available. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.

Physical Demands

This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.

Travel

Limited local travel may be required for this position.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or other business-related field or equivalent amount of prior experience in commercial lending, small business lending, underwriting or portfolio management required.

For Applicants located in Alexandria, Viriginia (VA): The anticipated salary range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00 per hour.

For Applicants located in Salisbury, Maryland (MD): The anticipated salary range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00 per hour.

The ranges listed for Viriginia and/or Maryland represent the good-faith compensation the Company reasonably expects to pay for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and business needs. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation, such as bonuses or incentive pay, where applicable.
