You will be excited by the opportunity to lead engineering assurance and technical coordination for the TSMO package to achieve a safe, reliable and operable railway.

In this role, you'll:

Join the Engineering, Design and Assurance (EDA) team that oversees the engineering, design and assurance requirements across all Sydney Metro projects throughout the project lifecycle. The team is accountable for the Sydney Metro product, driving continuous improvement through innovation and industry leading thought and action.

Reporting to the Associate Director Engineering – TSMO & IRCS, you will manage the implementation of assurance, audit tools and processes to monitor and report on performance of projects including the implementation of regular assurance plans to ensure all customer needs and business requirements are met within defined scope, quality, safety, time and cost constraints. The role is responsible for defining, coordinating and assuring IRCS as the integrated railway control and monitoring capability.

Your accountabilities will be to:

• Define IRCS architecture, system boundaries and interfaces
• Coordinate integration across TSMO, stations, linewide and rolling stock
• Ensure IRCS is delivered as an integrated operational system
• Lead system‑level verification, validation and integrated testing
• Lead IRCS interface definition and configuration control
• Support system assurance, design reviews and change impact assessment
• Lead systems engineering and integration teams
• Provide authoritative systems advice to senior stakeholders

This is a full-time fixed term Opportunity until 30/06/2031 Transport Senior Service Manager TSSM level role offering an attractive remuneration package.

About you

• Significant experience in rail systems engineering and integration
• Proven delivery of integrated control and monitoring systems
• Strong expertise in requirements management, interface control and V&V
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Software or related)
• Sydney Metro Competency Level L3 (minimum) – IRCS / Rail Systems
• Sydney Metro Competency Level L3 (minimum) – Systems Engineering, Integration & Assurance
• Equivalent to CPEng or recognised professional registration
• The role is identified as a Rail Safety Worker
