In this role, you'll:

You’ll provides strategic leadership of Aboriginal cultural-heritage protection and preservation initiatives across Transport for NSW through building trusted partnerships, directing a state wide team, and delivering innovative, compliant services and outcomes.

You’ll ensure Native Title implications and complexities are identified and understood across TfNSW major projects and Roads Maintenance and Resilience works.

You’ll build and maintain trusted partnerships with Aboriginal stakeholders and develop and deliver outcomes that ensures compliance with TfNSW Procedure for Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Consultation and Investigation (PACHCI).

This permanent position is governed by our hybrid working model, which forms part of the organisation’s Flexible Working Arrangements and associated procedures. This includes a combination of required onsite attendance in your home office and approved remote working. Regional candidates are encouraged to apply.

About you

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or relevant experience, you’ll have expert knowledge of NSW cultural heritage, native title and land rights legislation/policy and extensive experience of its practical application in infrastructure and service delivery. You’ll have proven delivery of complex, multi-year programs with multidisciplinary teams and vendors.

You’ll have experience developing and maintaining strong collaborative working relationships to meet stakeholders’ expectations and are comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where delivery on tight deadlines is critical.

You’re a self-starter, know how to build strong relationships, collaborate and communicate effectively to drive outcomes.

This is an identified position. Credibility with the Aboriginal community, a sound understanding of Aboriginal cultures, and insight into the issues affecting Aboriginal people are essential.
