In this role, you'll:

Join the Engineering, Design and Assurance (EDA) team that oversees the engineering, design and assurance requirements across all Sydney Metro projects throughout the project lifecycle. The team is accountable for the Sydney Metro product, driving continuous improvement through innovation and industry leading thought and action.

Reporting to the Associate Director Engineering – TSMO & IRCS, you will manage the TSMO engineering scope and will provide technical engineering advice and support to Implementation Groups throughout the design and construction phases of a major subcontract package. The role provides technical leadership, assurance and delivery coordination across the TSMO package, ensuring that signalling, control, communications, radio and operational systems are integrated and delivered to achieve a safe, reliable and operable railway.

Your accountabilities will be to:

• Lead engineering assurance and technical coordination for the TSMO package
• Drive technical outcomes across signalling, control and communications systems
• Oversee design and technical review of Signalling, CCS, Communications and Radio systems Manage interfaces with IRCS, stations, linewide and rolling stock packages
• Support integration, verification and validation, testing, commissioning and operational readiness
• Support system integration across package boundaries
• Participate in technical and design reviews and change control
• Maintain configuration control and baseline integrity
• Lead multi‑disciplinary TSMO engineering teams
• Provide authoritative engineering advice to delivery and governance forums

This is a full-time fixed term Opportunity until 30/12/2031 Transport Senior Service Manager TSSM level role offering an attractive remuneration package.

About you

• Significant experience in delivering signalling, control and communications systems on major rail/metro projects
• Demonstrated experience integrating OCC, communications and operational systems
• Strong understanding of systems assurance and rail safety governance
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Systems, Electrical, Control, Communications or related)
• Sydney Metro Competency Level L2 (minimum) – Rail Systems / TSMO domain
• Sydney Metro Competency Level L2 (minimum) – Systems Engineering and Integration
• Equivalent to CPEng (Engineers Australia) or relevant professional accreditation
• The role is identified as a Rail Safety Worker
