In this role, you'll:
Lead the delivery of technical accounting advice across Transport for NSW. The role provides expert financial, commercial and accounting advice to ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and NSW Treasury mandates, ensuring transactions are structured, negotiated, and executed to optimise financial outcomes, manage risk, and align with organisational and government objectives.
Partner with senior executives, finance specialists, internal stakeholders, external advisors, government agencies, and commercial partners to deliver robust financial solutions and ensure successful transaction outcomes that support Transport for NSW’s strategic priorities and long term sustainability.
Lead the provision of expert accounting advice to senior executives and stakeholders on transaction strategy, risks, and accounting impacts to support informed decision-making.
Lead the implementation of new or revised standards to ensure compliance and consistency in application across the Transport Portfolio.
Direct and facilitate training on new and existing accounting standards either informally in workshops or more formally in presentations. Ensure that accounting principles are applied with integrity and that decisions are appropriately documented across a large and complex Portfolio.
Lead, coach, and develop team members to strengthen knowledge, skills, and capability within the team, while fostering a culture that lifts organisational capability and supports long-term performance.
