Position: Slot Repair Technician II
Department: Slots
Performs a variety of duties related to the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of slot equipment down to the component level.
Duties and Responsibilities: (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
- Performs installations, removals, and relocations of gaming equipment.
- Performs troubleshooting steps to determine causes of equipment failure and takes measures to resolve, such as swapping failed equipment or cleaning malfunctioning components.
- Performs regularly scheduled preventive maintenance to include base and chair repair.
- Performs major overhauls, conversions, and modifications on gaming equipment.
- Upgrades software as required.
- Performs printer paper fills and verifies jackpots as determined by the supervisor.
- Ensures all slot machines are secure and tamper-proof.
- Communicates effectively and efficiently with floor staff to ensure that equipment is functioning, including assisting them with machine maintenance.
- Instructs and aids team members in machine maintenance.
- Informs supervisor of guests playing in an unethical or irregular manner; may assist in the resolution of player disputes.
- Uses technical manuals as references to perform repairs and maintenance of gaming equipment.
- Makes decisions during the performance of duties that are informed and accurate.
- Provides responsive and friendly service to guests and staff in the performance of job duties.
- Keeps abreast of technical changes as well as industry terminology in such areas as gameplay, audit functions and player’s club features and promotional activity.
- Maintains a neat and orderly repair area.
- Maintains accurate service logs.
- Performs job duties in a manner that complies with departmental and Gaming Enterprise Division (GED) internal controls, policies and procedures as well as federal and state gaming laws, ordinances and regulations.

Essential functions of the position:
- Must be able to constantly lift, carry, and move up to fifty (50) pounds, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to reach above shoulder height, handle, pull, kneel, stoop, squat, grip, crouch, twist, and bend for duties, small confined areas, and machine moves.
- Must be able to work at and travel to all CDS properties.
- Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.
- Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with all guests, team members, and internal/external vendors positively and professionally.
- Must be able to work in environments with high noise levels, flashing lights, smoking areas, and large crowds.
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure/fast-paced environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of electrical circuitry, electronics, and mechanical devices.
- Knowledge of operations, theories and principles of slot machines.
- Knowledge of slot gaming industry terminology to include gameplay, audit functions, player’s club features and promotional activity.
- Knowledge of online accounting and monitoring systems.
- Working knowledge of general accounting practices and principles.
- Working knowledge of conflict resolution practices, such as following a chain of command.
- Knowledge and understanding of departmental and GED internal controls, policies, and procedures as well as federal and state gaming laws, ordinances, and regulations.
- Skill in the repair and maintenance of slot machines.
- Skill in the use of electronic test equipment, power tools, and other tools of the trade.
- Basic motor skills and troubleshooting techniques.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and other office equipment.
- Organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Skill in working courteously with the public as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Ability to learn new electro-mechanical devices as well as new mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations of the position.
- Ability to perform general office/clerical tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of Slot Technician experience OR relevant related mechanical and/or technical experience, AND must complete a Slot Technician II aptitude assessment.
- Must be able to work (may require shift changes), weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain and retain a valid gaming license/background check.
