Job Description

Supervise and performs job functions related to construction, repair and maintenance of slot machines.

HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY

  • Responsible for interviewing, training, and selecting employees for the department

  • Conduct Performance Reviews in accordance with policies and procedures; provide feedback; coaching and development guidance as needed.

  • Ensure completion of all daily, weekly and monthly project plans

  • Respond to and handle employee complaints (grievances) in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Recommend or take appropriate action when administering disciplinary processes in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for planning, supervising and monitoring the work of the team members in assigned area(s).

  • Responsible for monitoring legal compliance with federal, state and gaming laws.

  • Ensures the security of funds contained in the slot machines.

  • Supervises the daily operation in the department and ensures that all policies and procedures are followed.

  • Acts as a role model and presents oneself as a credit to Harrah’s and encourages others to do the same.

  • Ability to maintain a strong working relationship with governing/regulatory parties.

  • Responsible for the Slot Performance scheduling and performance appraisals for those employees that directly report to this person.

  • Responsible for providing guest services skills and encouraging employees to do the same.

  • Recommend changes in the department, including hiring, promotion and demotion.

  • Responsible for conducting training and instruction for assigned personnel in the proper performance of their job duties and responsibilities of all slot technicians supervised by this position.

  • Responsible for monitoring all casino floor and ballroom audio visual needs, including replacing, upgrading, and running cables as needed for all property and vendor events.

  • Review, analyze and make recommendations with respect to wage increases; promotions; or demotions as needed.

  • Assist the Slot Performance Manager in the planning and execution of slot floor layouts and proper slot mix to conform to Harrah’s overall slot strategy.

  • Other duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience in related technical area required

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, Finance, Business, or Accounting preferred or 2 years equivalent technical experience.

  • 1-2 years of experience in financial analysis or operational analysis required.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in slot performance is required

  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills and training required.

  • Must have a strong knowledge of casino rules, procedures, policies and regulations pertaining to Casino Operations.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Must be able to work any shift as assigned.

  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team across departments and levels of management.

  • Demonstrates Supervisory and Leadership skills with the ability to present oneself in a professional manner. Must be able to assist with all audio-visual needs on the casino floor and ballrooms.

  • Internal candidates complete the Exploring Supervisor Opportunities (ESO) readiness activities preferred

  • Able to work extended and flexible hours and various shifts as needed

  • Able to maneuver all areas of casino

  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds

  • Able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items

  • Respond to visual and aural cues

  • Read, write and speak English

  • Must be able to walk and be on foot for long periods of time.

  • Must have a sense of urgency and keep up with fast paced business practices.

  • Must be able to work calmly and professionally in stressful situations.

  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust

  • Must be able to push and pull up to 500 pounds
