
POSITION PURPOSE:
Following safety standards, perform a variety of activities involved in the overall running of the slitter/rewinder machine. Primary responsibilities are to constantly monitor all phases of the slitting operation, to maintain quality and productivity, and to maximize waste reduction efforts in order to ensure that continuous improvement goals are achieved or exceeded.
Shift: 3pm to 11pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform the following duties consistent with the Finishing function including, but not limited to:
•Ensure that the slitter/rewinder is producing quality product.
•Ensure proper materials and machine settings are used.
•Communicate support needs as required.
•Ensure that all manufacturing instructions are carried out.
•Ensure all paperwork and data entry is completed accurately.
•Ensure crew is working towards optimum productivity and waste reduction capabilities.
•Communicate with Shift Supervisor upon completion of scheduled work.
•Monitor deviations in materials and running conditions; making corrections with crew assistance; and report deviations to proper supervisor.
•Ensure that environmental, safety and housekeeping standards and regulations are followed.
•Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in preparation and packaging.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
•High School Diploma or GED is required
•Must be willing and available to train on all Finishing equipment
•Ability to use basic computer system's hardware and software
•Manufacturing experience
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
•Must be able to carry 35 lbs.
Education and/or Experience:
•High School Degree or equivalence mandatory.
•Must be able to operate computer systems after training.
•Ability to read, understand and apply instructions to work orders.
Language Skills:
•Ability to effectively communicate, both in oral and written communications, with people of various educational and technical backgrounds, both inside and outside the company.
•Ability to use computers to do word processing and spreadsheets is required.
Mathematical Skills:
•Ability to use and read a tape measure.
•Ability to perform various math functions with emphasis on measurable impact of mathematical calculations.
W ork Environment:
Majority of time spent in manufacturing area. Hearing, eye and foot protection is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
