ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Refer to FRANSOP-1001, EHS Expectations by Role Work from established procedures, written and/or verbal instructions. Perform set-ups and product changes. Operate and monitor slitter controls to ensure product is being run within specification. Observe slitter operation for quality product and make adjustments and minor repairs to correct any deficiencies. Coordinate all slitter operations with crewmembers and assist members when necessary. Cut and remove finished drums of tape and splice to a new drum. Use overhead hoist and upender to move drums of tape. Report all quality and maintenance problems to supervisor. Follow prescribed safety rules and performs all jobs in accordance with safety rules. Maintain necessary records. Move and order materials as necessary. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition Perform other duties as required and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED Previous manufacturing experience preferred Must have excellent attendance Maintain a safe work environment Must be able to work overtime as required Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner. Ability to read and write.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF JOB:
1. Operator must be able to assist in “set-ups” and “changeovers” of machines for various products.
2. Operator must be able to load and unload spindles and rolls of tape from slitter.
3. Operator must be able to load tape drums and unload tape drums using overhead hoist system.
4. Operator must be able to perform quality checks of product.
5. Operator must be able to performing cleaning duties.
Standing: (Constant) Operator must be able to stand to complete various duties associated with job functions such as performing set-ups and changeovers of machines, loading and unloading spindles, loading tape drums, performing quality checks and performing cleaning duties.
Walking: (Frequent) Operator must be able to walk to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as performing set-ups and changeovers of machines, loading and unloading spindles, loading tape drums, performing quality checks and performing cleaning duties.
Sitting: (Occasional) Operator must be able to sit to perform various duties associated with essential job functions such as recording production data and attending training sessions.
Lifting: (Frequent) Operator must be able to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds from a height of 40 inches to a shoulder height of up to 60 inches to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as loading and unloading and unloading spindles.
Carrying: (Frequent) Operator must be able to complete side and/or front carries with materials weighing up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 15 feet.
Pushing/Pulling: (Occasional) Operator must be able to generate push and pull forces of <50 pounds to complete various tasks such as performing set-ups and changeovers of machines, loading and unloading spindles, loading tape drums, performing quality checks and performing cleaning duties.
Forward Bending: (Frequent) Operator must be able to attain/maintain a forward flexed position of up to 60 degrees to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as performing set-ups and changeovers of machines, loading and unloading spindles, loading tape drums, and performing cleaning duties.
Trunk Rotation: (Frequent) Operator must be able to rotate their trunk/torso left-right to complete various tasks associated with essential job functions such as performing set-ups and changeovers of machines, loading and unloading spindles, loading tape drums, and performing cleaning duties.
Reaching: (Frequent) Operator must be able to forward reach to a shoulder level height of between 48-60 inches to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as performing set-ups and changeovers, loading and unloading spindles, loading tape drums, performing quality checks and maintaining a clean workspace.
Manipulating/Handling/Gripping: (Frequent) Operator must be able to complete gripping, pinching and manipulation of various parts and pieces of equipment utilized for the performance of essential job functions. A grip force of to 50 pounds is necessary for the completion of tasks.
Climbing: (Occasional) Operator must be able to climb to complete various duties associated with essential job functions.
Kneeling: (Occasional) Operator must be able to kneel to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as performing cleaning duties.
Crouching: (Occasional) Operator must be able to crouch to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as performing set-ups and changeovers, and performing cleaning duties.
Crawling (Never)
Squatting: (Occasional) Operator must be able to squat to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as performing set-ups and changeovers, and performing cleaning duties.
Postural Balancing: (Constant) Operator must be able to exhibit postural balance to complete various duties associated with essential job functions such as performing set-ups and changeovers of machines, loading and unloading spindles, loading tape drums, and performing cleaning duties.
Heavy Work (Level 4) as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles.
SIGNIFICANT WORKSITE MEASUREMENTS:
Tools: weighing up to 10 pounds.
Materials: weighing up to 50 pounds.
Steps/Ladders: up to 7-12-inch step/rung heights.
